Public Utilities

Water service in Brighton Township is generally provided by individual homeowners and businesses using their own deep wells. The wells are regulated by the Livingston County Health Department (LCHD). Any new wells or modifications to existing wells require a permit from LCHD. They can be reached at 517-546-9850.


Fonda Island, Briggs Water Authority (FIB)

The Township has one private community well system, the Fonda Island, Briggs (FIB) Water Authority. The number for FIB is 810-227-4149 or (after hours) 517-545-0427. 


Livingston Community Water Authority (LCWA)

In 2002 Brighton Township committed to expand municipal water into the Township. We joined with Green Oak and Hamburg Township to form the Livingston Community Water Authority (LCWA). LCWA water mains serve buildings on Whitmore Lake road and Old U.S. 23 from the south Township line to Weber Drive.Country Club Annex water has been switched over to the Livingston Community Water Authority as of January 3, 2008.

Streetlights

The Charter Township of Brighton has been working with Detroit Edison's Community Lighting group to expedite the repair and maintenance of the streetlights in our community. Outages may be reported by calling 800-477-4747 or by visiting dteenergy.com/streetlight.
