Financial Information

The Township operates on an April 1 Fiscal Year (April 1 through March 31 of the following year). The Township prepares an annual budget covering that period. It outlines projected expenditures by cost activity center or department. A public hearing is held on the proposed budget in accordance with state law. The Township Board then adopts a General Appropriations Resolution which defines the powers and duties in relation to the administration of the budget and providing remedies for non-compliance with the requirements. The Township Manager is responsible for the preparation and administration of the budget. The General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Payroll are under the Clerk’s Office. The Treasurer is responsible for the collection of real and personal property taxes, other revenues and receipts, and investing township funds in approved investment vehicles.

Financial Transparency

The Township adopted a formal resolution (PDF) in 2008 committing to financial transparency. This includes the posting of the budget, resolutions relating to the annual budget, rate of pay and benefits for all elected officials, web access to line item spending, financial reports, and the annual audits.
